Correlation analysis revealed highly significant positive linear relationships between the extent of an elephant’s entire range and their respective hot spots (Table 3 , r = 0.75, t = 3.97, df = 12, p = 0.0019), indicating that elephants with smaller entire range extents also have smaller sized hot spots.
