Although this effect was marginally significant, the effect size was medium to large (partial η 2 = 0.11) and the pattern is consistent with other work: some studies have shown that the luteal phase is associated with higher alpha 2 power (Baker and Colrain 2010 ; Bazanova et al. 2014 ), and higher individual alpha frequency (IAF; Brötzner et al. 2014 ).
