Although our data did not show a significant association between age and any type or groups of types in severe lesions, except for HPV16, an increasing trend could be observed with a peak in the range 50–65 years old range compared to those aged 30–39 for CIN3, suggesting this lesion in older women where mainly caused by HPV16.
