In our study, the subclassification of subjects in NPD or PD according to HbA1c (< 5.7% and 5.7 – 6.4%, respectively) and/or FPG (< 100 mg/dL and 100 – 125 mg/dL, respectively) levels showed that both NPD and PD under either treatment scheme had similar weight loss time-courses, with borderline significance to greater reductions in the PD-MM subgroup (10.2 kg at month 6).
