This view is controversial in the sense that it suggests that these common pain conditions along the spine may share the same basic causative neuropathology, and accordingly should be considered a ‘family’ of related neurological disorders, and concurs with the highly significant clinical coexistence between tension-type headache and low back pain ( 31 ).
