In the present study, among patients aged <70 years, the mortality risk in patients with overweight status or ideal BMI was not significantly higher than that in patients with obesity; however, there was a significantly higher mortality risk in patients with underweight status, and the spline curve for mortality risk showed an obvious trend for higher mortality risk as the BMI decreased.
