Two-thirds of patients with liver abscesses had diabetes, and diabetes mellitus is a significant risk factor, a common related comorbid, and has a highly significant mortality rate in patients with primary liver abscess. 11 Our patients with primary liver abscesses were managed with percutaneous drainage and antibiotics.
