ANOVA indicated that the variation among different genotypes (RILs and BCF 1 hybrids), among different environments, and G × E interactions were all highly significant for all measured traits, and on average, explained 33.0% (30.1%), 29.9% (32.5%) and 22.6% (21.4%) of the total phenotypic variation of the RIL (BCF 1 ) populations (Additional file 2 : Table S2).
