Such burns have been reported to be disproportionately higher in pediatric populations and women such as housewives.[ 23 ] Flame burn particularly has been linked with the highest mortality rates and longest in-patient hospital stay periods.[ 24 , 25 ] The mean percentage of TBSA in this study was about 26%, which is similar to that reported from Europe in a systematic review (11%–24%), although there was a decreasing trend in the recent decades.[ 26 ] Limitations The study has the inherent limitations of a retrospective study.
