Although the sample size was limited, findings were highly significant and indicated that calves produced through IVP showed aberrant hepatic and muscular epigenomic and transcriptomic profiles that, when compared to MOET calves, were clearly compatible with the following biological imbalances: increased aerobic respiration and thus energy generation in both organs; and notoriously, increased protein synthesis in the liver but decreased in muscle.
