The corresponding rates for oral cavity cancer were 5.44 (95% CI 5.35–5.53) and 2.49 (2.43–2.55) per 100,000 population, respectively; in men, rates were highest in patients older than 60 years, while an age-dependent progressive increase, peaking at 8084 years, was observed in women ( Table 2 and Figure 1 ). Among men, hospitalization rates showed a decreasing trend over the study period for all diagnoses except for tonsil cancer, while an increasing trend was observed in women.
