Of note, the large randomised, Embedded, Multi-factorial, Adaptive Platform Trial for Community-Acquired Pneumonia (REMAP-CAP) trial, evaluating the impact of CPT on organ support-free days in >2000 critically ill patients with COVID-19, although stopped for futility, found a nonsignificant trend for the use of CPTin the subgroup of immunocompromised patients [ 48 ].
