Although the truly simultaneous and rapid serial groups differed significantly across several variables (including the Abbreviated Injury Scale score, use of damage-control procedures, massive transfusion requirement and hemodynamic instability), differences in additional variables such as mechanism of injury and ISS were also reasonably close to being significant ( p = 0.09 and 0.2, respectively).
