We observed that there was no significant association between exposure to NO 2 , SO 2 or CO and HOMA-IR or the presence of IR but that long-term higher exposure to PM 10 was associated with an increasing trend for both HOMA-IR and the presence of IR in a dose-dependent manner regardless of BMI or abdominal fat level, as measured by VAT and SAT areas.
