SNPs located at different positions within the Doa gene might thus have different functions. In total, we identified 16 biallelic SNPs (either intronic or in the coding region) having highly significant allele frequency differentiation (FDR < 0.0005) between the early-reproduction and late-reproduction (and hence increased lifespan) selection regimes in our E&R study [ 22 ] ( figure 1 b , electronic supplementary material, table S1).
