There was no significant difference in the duration of osteotomy (SMD, 3.15; 95% CI, −1.82 to 8.12; P = 0.22; I 2 = 94%) or total duration of procedure (SMD, 0.46, 95% CI, −0.43 to 1.36; P = 0.31; I 2 = NA) when performing piezoelectric osteotomy versus conventional osteotomy, though a nonsignificant trend toward increasing procedural duration (length of osteotomy + total length of surgery) was identified with use of piezoelectric technology (SMD, 2.01; 95% CI, −0.10 to 4.13; P = 0.06; I 2 = 90%).
