Figure 1 shows for both genders that the temporal evolution of the daily infection counts of COVID-19 cases has followed an increasing trend and reached a peak at the end of December 2020, which was then followed by a slow decrease and then by a rapid decline until the end of June 2021, where confirmed cases were close to nearly zero levels.
