There was an increasing trend of culture-negative PJI in our region due to the use of inappropriate antibiotics prior to taking cultures that warrants further investigation to isolate an organism, especially in circumstances where the patient failed to respond even after aggressive surgical debridement and a prolonged antibiotic course.
