Therefore, in addition to these reported mechanisms by which estradiol and testosterone may play a prognostic role for peri- and post-menopausal women, the current findings suggest that the abrupt loss of estradiol at menopause and the potential increase in total testosterone may be significant contributors to left atrioventricular coupling.
