Even though the difference in procedure time might not be practically significant as far as the procedure is concerned, shorter procedure time using the proposed technique translates to shorter duration of anesthesia, which in turn can spare the young children of the potential adverse effects associated with prolonged anesthesia.[ 19 ] The need for fluoroscopy did not arise in any of the procedures done using the proposed technique, while the conventional techniques were associated with significantly higher fluoroscopy use.
