Using two-way ANOVA, we determined that the interaction of temperature treatments and population origin (unpolluted vs polluted forest; F 3, 67 = 27.6, p < 0.0001) was extremely significant for changes in midgut ALP activity, together with the individual influence of increased temperature (F 3, 67 = 30.9, p < 0.0001) and origin of the population of larvae (F 1, 67 = 28.36, p < 0.0001) (Fig. 1 a).
