In recent reports, researchers have observed a highly significant co-occurrence of MYC gene amplification and TP53 gene mutations in breast cancer and later in NSCLC. 11 However, the prognosis and predictive value of MYC/TP53 comutation in patients with EGFR mutation-positive advanced NSCLC treated with oral EGFR-TKIs are still unclear, although some studies have suggested that MYC gene amplification is associated with possible EGFR-TKI resistance. 14 , 16 However, there is not a large amount of clinical data to confirm this hypothesis.
