Age is a highly significant and powerful predictor of outcome in patients with skin melanoma; although there is no significant predictor of lymph node involvement, recurrence, or metastasis, age ≥ 60 years may be associated with more aggressive histology in patients with skin melanoma characteristics and poorer outcomes.
