Energy calculations on the stable donor free complexes provided us with an insight into the nature of alkali‐metal‐ligand interactions where a definite trend in increased contribution of attractive London Dispersion Forces can be observed on moving down group one, which is in sharp contrast to the electrostatic forces of attraction.
