The analyses of data from the four Government run stations located at the industrial belt and five field observation sites scattered over the non-industrial part of Haldia show a striking fact of decreasing pollutant concentration in or around the industrial belt and an increasing trend of pollutant concentration in residential and single-season cropped land, although keeping levels below the permissible level.
