An interesting trend in recent current sheet statistics in both the near-Sun and near-Earth solar wind 45 , 46 is that, the thinner the current sheet is, (i) the stronger its peak current normalized by the Alfvén current J A = n 0 e v A , (ii) the smaller the current sheet amplitude (amount of magnetic shear relative to the average global magnetic field strength), and (iii) the smaller the shear angle.
