Second, the newly proposed threshold SUA values, lower than the previous ones, make the SUA association with lipid and adiposity alterations (1) of more frequent detection in daily clinical practice and (2) highly significant for the association with lipid profile, even when multivariate analysis adjusted for confounders were taken into account, thereby strengthening the clinical relevance of the relationships.
