The models of the full dataset with equal variance (estimate [full] = -0.02; 95% Confidence Interval (CI) [full] = -0.31, 0.26) and of the reduced dataset for which variance could be calculated (estimate [reduced] = -0.06, 95% CI [reduced] = -0.18, 0.06) both showed no significant effect of protein on offspring viability, although there was a slight trend towards reduced viability with high protein, particularly in the reduced dataset model ( Fig. 1 ).
