The mean age was 48.1 ± 14.2 years, and there was a highly significant difference in age between the two groups (56.8 ± 13.8 years vs. 47.1 ± 14.0 years, P < 0.001), while sex, BMI, etiology and past medical history (i.e., hypertension, diabetes, smoking and drinking) were not significantly different ( P > 0.05).
