A community-based study showed an overall estimation of a 4.4% HCV seroprevalence in Taiwan [ 7 ]; however, the prevalence of HCV of less than 1.4% among people born after 1960 with a decreasing trend in new HCV infections might be one of the major causes of the decreasing incidence of C-HCC in recent decades.
