After adjusting for different variables (age, sex, self-reported race, education level, marital status, income level, alcohol consumption, cigarette smoking, hypertension status, diabetes status, and mean systolic blood pressure), the association was lost, but serum creatinine had an increasing trend when nonpast- and current-users were compared.
