68 WHO reported an increase of more than 100,000 TB deaths in 2020 compared to 2019, which was the first transition into an increasing trend since 2005. 2 DISCUSSION This rapid review of literature revealed that the COVID-19 pandemic has had significantly negative impact on the effort to prevent TB, as evident through the universal decline in BCG coverage, detection of LTBI, TB screening and case finding activities, and TB case notifications.
