The other highly significant modifiable risk factors linked with pregnant mothers include maternal smoking (1.80 (95% CI 1.76 to 1.84)), alcohol-related hospital admissions (1.60 (95% CI 1.30 to 1.97)) and any substance misuse (alcohol/other drugs) (1.35 (95% CI 1.29 to 1.41)) during pregnancy.
