Multivariate analysis and blood gas indexes PH and PaO 2 /FiO 2 were positively correlated with times of PPV and negatively correlated with FiO 2 , namely, with the passage of time, PH and PaO 2 /FiO 2 showed an increasing trend whereas FiO 2 showed a decreasing trend (P<0.05); FiO 2 was positively correlated with the baseline SOFA score and negatively correlated with PH, namely, the higher the baseline SOFA score, the higher FiO 2 , and the lower PH (P<0.05); blood gas indexes were not significantly correlated with gender, age, and baseline APACHE II ( Table 4 ).
