Compared to 2012, the odds for unmet dental care needs for current smokers were lower in 2015 (Adjusted Odds Ratio (aOR) = 0.67, 95 % Confidence Interval (CI) = 0.45–1.01), 2017 (aOR = 0.53, 95 % CI = 0.35–0.81), and 2019 (aOR = 0.65, 95 % CI = 0.40–1.05) (p for trend < 0.001), although the differences for 2015 and 2019 (vs 2012) did not quite reach statistical significance.
