One interviewee, however, worried about generalized use of metrics to expunge or block data from repositories, based on a judgment that they are low-quality according to those metrics, because “all data have warts.” Depending on the specific objectives and needs of studies that might reuse data, the interviewee suggested, a data set's particular blemishes might not be significant or even relevant.
