A total of 38,930 births occurred between weeks 33 and 36 +6 , corresponding to 89.4% of the preterm births presenting an increasing trend from 76.9% in 2010 to 81.0% of all preterm births. 3.2 Sex Prematurity was consistently more frequent in the male sex in all years, corresponding to 52% of preterm birth (Table 2 ). 3.3 Gestational age Globally, preterm births varied yearly from 7.3% to 8.0% of all births.
