Overall, our transcriptomic study revealed that the genes encoding a putative alternative transporter of cello-oligosaccharides ( cebEFG2 ) are significantly transcriptionally activated by the presence of cellobiose and cellotriose, whereas the expression response of the genes of the transporter located on the pathogenicity island is much weaker, barely significant.
