Vaccine breakdown results in the dataset for novel SpaA sequences, while representing small sample numbers, shows the beginning of an interesting trend in which (excluding groups in <5 herds) previously reported SpaA sequence types such as groups 1, 2, 2-D195A and 2-I257L are associated with lower frequencies of observed vaccine breakdown in Australian piggeries than the novel SpaA types shown here in Australian isolates.
