Controlling for other variables, the impact of drinking prior to pregnancy remained highly significant and of relatively large effect, with women who consumed alcohol prior to pregnancy having 31.74 times the odds of alcohol consumption during pregnancy compared with those who did not (95% CI: 21.58, 48.96).
