Our findings provide support to the hypothesis that TRD status could be a risk predictor of developing autoimmune diseases, with an adjusted HR of 1.48 (95% CI: 0.99–2.24) at marginal significance in the cohort study and a significant adjusted OR of 1.67 (95% CI: 1.10–2.53) in the nested case-control study.
