This result suggests that the evidence of the EKC is not robust in these three economies, and especially in the case of Brazil and Chile, the careful attention should be paid to monitor the evolution of CO 2 emissions in the long run since it also shows an increasing trend as the economy grows after having reached a certain threshold level of income.
