reported a statistically significant increase in pro-inflammatory cytokines levels (IL-1ß, IL-6, IL-8, MIP-1ß, and TNF-alpha) and reduced lung function parameters (FEV 1 %, FEV 1 /FVC, MMF%, and PEF, FVC marginally non-significant) among the CB-exposed workers.

In the literature
who found increased all-cause mortality among those with an HbA1 C measurement ≥7% (53 mmol/mol) (HR 1.26 (95% CI 1.15, 1.39)) and a U-shaped relationship between increasing HbA1 C and all-cause mortality.[ 8 ] A 2013 study also found an increased HR in relation to HbA1 C and all-cause mortality that was marginally non-significant (HR 1.21, 95% CI 0.99–1.47).[ 5 ] Within the current study, among those with diabetes only those with raised HbA1 C had an increased risk of all-cause mortality, while for mortality from CVD all diabetes/raised HbA1 C categorieshad an increased risk.
Consequently, the dissolved N:P ratio was significantly lower when krill densities increased, while salps tend to be positively associated with the dissolved N:P ratio, although the effect was marginally non-significant (Table 2 ).
However, in our simulation example we illustrate that this filter should be used with caution, as marginally non-significant SNPs may be highly significant when interacting with other SNPs in the CH form.
However, there was a marginally non-significant tendency for Virgin-controls to be preferred over Mated males ( Fig. 4 , middle bars), suggesting that some females may have been able to detect virginity using odour cues and/or male behaviour.
After considering the patient characteristics, the global Moran’s I = 0.239 ( p -value = 0.0510) for spatially structured residuals was marginally non-significant at the 5% significance level.
As the current findings were marginally non-significant, they should be considered preliminary, and more in-depth investigations need to be done before definitive recommendations can be made.
However, males appeared to move more and were seen as much as 14 m from their burrows while females moved a maximum of just over 8 m from their burrows; males also had larger home ranges although high variance meant this relationship was marginally non-significant.
Responses between 30 and 60 kph were marginally non-significant ( Table 4 ).

However, patients in the BNHS group in Hospital A appeared to be slightly more satisfied than the controls (Good/Excellent: 50 versus 30%; P = 0.095), although the differences were marginally non-significant.
For example, the time pressure analysis also revealed a match response bias ( criterion ) in all conditions except for the 10-s condition, and a marginally non-significant interaction of time pressure and trial type.

Oxidative stress and growth rate We found a marginally non-significant positive association between MDA and lamb growth rate across lambs sampled during 2010–2013, but no indication of interactions between growth and year, sex or twin status ( table 1 and electronic supplementary material, table S2; figure 1 ).
Creative expressive interventions, which were marginally non-significant in the main analysis but had moderate confidence in the evidence, demonstrated increased effectiveness in group interventions and among participants without formal PTSD diagnosis.
The lipid profile was significantly ameliorated, and both HbA1c and insulin levels showed a marginally non-significant decrease after treatment.
However, given the marginally non-significant difference in age between the two identified clusters (dichotomous p = 0.07; continuous p = 0.10), we cannot exclude that part of the clustering and associated metabolite levels may be impacted by age.
Similarly, reporting and interpreting “marginally non-significant results” or “trends towards significance” have been discouraged [ 101 ].
There were marginally non-significant associations with type of chemotherapy and receipt of GCSF, but no association with sex.
However, these patterns were brain division specific, with dominant males showing lower glutathione levels in the telencephalon and a higher levels of oxidative DNA damage in the hypothalamus (this latter effect was marginally non-significant) relative to subordinate males.
Cancer mortality The linear association between total sedentary behaviour and cancer mortality was marginally non-significant and unaffected by PA adjustment; the PA adjusted estimate was 1.01 (1.00–1.02).
Such low standard deviations and thus rather small variances make it difficult to find statistically significant results, and this could explain the marginally non-significant results.
For many statisticians, a “marginally non-significant p-value” indicates some evidence against the null-hypothesis [ 93 , 110 ].
