Based on the final results from the MONALEESA-2/3 (CDK4/6 inhibitor ribociclib plus fulvestrant/letrozole) and SOLAR-1 (PI3K inhibitor alpelisib plus fulvestrant) trials, combined ribociclib and endocrine therapy was associated with statistically significantly longer PFS and OS, whereas combined alpelisib and fulvestrant showed a significant improvement in PFS, but the prolongation of OS did not reach statistical significance [ 36 ].
