When we removed beneficiaries with a probability of 90-day mortality <0.25, the association between fragmented/same HIE and lower odds of in-hospital mortality did not reach statistical significance, likely due to being underpowered (AOR 0.59, 95% CI 0.33-1.07; Multimedia Appendix 4 , Table S5); all other associations were similar to the primary analysis ( Multimedia Appendix 4 , Tables S3-S10).
