The association between higher education and good QoL as corroborated by another study from rural China may be due to the concurrent improvement of health awareness.[ 18 ] While the presence of complications showed a trend towards poorer QoL, the association was not significant in contrast to unanimous consensus among other similar studies.[ 18 – 20 ] The absence of treatment/medications for complications and co-morbidities was strangely shown to be associated with good QoL even after adjustment within the multivariable equation.
