An increasing left atrial diameter also showed a trend to an increasing risk of AF detection, and patients with at least moderate atrial dilatation (i.e. with a left atrial diameter >46 mm) who were assigned to rivaroxaban had a 74% relative risk reduction of ischaemic stroke compared with patients who received aspirin.
