Greater quantities of RNA relative to the extracted tumor area were obtained among stage III melanomas compared to those with stage II: 39.5 vs 32.4 ng/mm2 RNA (p<0.01); but for DNA this difference did not reach statistical significance (4.6 vs 3.9 ng/mm2 dsDNA, p = 0.06).
