19 Regarding the relationship between the amount of caffeine consumption and DED, 296 (24.2%) students with severe dry eyes ingested moderate-to-high amounts of caffeine daily (p = 0.095), which indicates that caffeine consumption may be one of the risk factors for dry eye; however, these results did not reach statistical significance.
