Outcomes were assessed as follows: 1) weight loss post-viral infection, 2) viral titers at the terminal endpoints, 3) gross lung discoloration at the terminal endpoints post-infection, and 4) histopathological scoring of lung samples. Mice administered V2043 at the 60 mg/kg dose and QD +12h dosing schedule showed significant protection from weight loss on days 3 and 4 post-infection and nearly significant protection from weight loss on day 5 post-infection ( Figure 2 B).
